Celebrate and embrace different aspects of yourself through the art of puppetry! Participants will learn to make a glove puppet as well as age-appropriate techniques to move their puppet through expression and play.

Brought to you in partnership with Calgary Reads and fourth year Mount Royal University Students from Early Learning, Childcare, and Child and Youth Counselling majors.

This puppet making and play workshop will run just over an hour.

Ages: Best for ages 5+ . Younger siblings and inter-generational family members welcome!

Price: $15 - Includes admission and supplies for up to 4 family members. Additional members (up to 6 same household or regular caregiver) can be included for an additional fee.

WP Puppet Theatre, a not-for-profit charity, provides a variety of puppetry infused learning opportunities and performances for school age, youth and adult audiences. Puppets are a great way to enjoy family fun! Puppetry is a magical means to get the whole family involved- kids, teens, adults and grandparents can explore their limitless imagination in a playful and tangible way.

The Little Red Reading House is a two-story house in a historic Calgary neighbourhood. It’s a place you can visit so children can experience the joy of reading in an environment created for that sole purpose. Little Red Reading House was created by Calgary Reads — a Calgary-based non-profit that has been advocating for early literacy and distributing books to children since 2001.

To maintain compliance with current restrictions only a maximum of 3 family groups will be permitted in the space at a time. The Little Red Reading House has implemented the Restrictions Exemption Program. Please arrive approximately 5 minutes prior to the start time to allow time to check in.
