What is Open Science? This workshop led by Dr. Monica Granados will teach you some of the basics of open science and how to make science more accessible. Dr. Granados will walk us through how open science works and the benefits and challenges associated with open science.
The event is free. Everyone is welcome to attend — regardless of whether you are currently a student, working, or anywhere in between. There will be an opportunity to ask Dr. Granados questions at the end of her talk.

About Dr. Monica Granados:
Dr. Monica Granados is committed to making science more open and accessible. She is currently a Policy Advisor at Environment and Climate Change Canada working on open science, she is on the leadership team of PREreview working to bring more diversity to peer review and on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Open Data Society. She is also an alumni of the Frictionless Data Fellowship.
About the Toronto Science Policy Network:
The Toronto Science Policy Network is a student-run science policy group which provides a platform to learn more about and engage in science policy. Since July 2018, we have organized a variety of events (including workshops, public panels and talks) and advocacy efforts, engaging over 300 individuals to date. While we are a recognized campus group at the University of Toronto, we welcome members outside the university to join. Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether you study or actively work in the sciences, social sciences, or humanities.
