Qi Gong Workshop
Event Information
Description
Have you heard about Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong)? Are you interested in learning more about this ancient Chinese practice and how it can benefit your every day life? Then join us for an evening of learning and unwinding as we practice some of the postures and movements designed to rejuvenate the body - perfect for this busy season!
Qi Gong is a 3,000-year-old Chinese study and practice of cultivating qi (life energy) that originated from Taoism. It is a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one's mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing techniques, self-massage, sound, and focused intent.
Raymond Wong, who will be guiding us through this one-hour workshop, is a practicing Qi Gong instructor and has studied with healers in San Francisco and Toronto and most recently with Ngui Style Chi-Kung. Raymond will teach us about the origins of Qi Gong to gain an understanding of what it is and how this practice can help improve one's overall wellbeing. We will then practice some of the basic moves, breathing and postures that can get your started on your own Qi Gong path.
