Sexual Health Education and Socialization for Adults with Diverse Abilities

We are excited to announce that Power Up Education will be offering 6 socio-educational evenings for adults with diverse abilities in Central Vancouver Island. This opportunity will allow for adults aged 18 and older to learn more about their bodies, better understand consent, and how to navigate relationships in an interactive and supportive environment.

Location: Claytree 838 Old Victoria Road

Time: 6:30-8:00 pm

Each event will include a 45 minute sexual health lesson, followed by 45 minutes of socialization with planned activities, drinks and snacks.

Lesson topics include sexual health basics and common language, healthy vs unhealthy relationships, consent, and dating.

We ask that staff, caregivers, guardians and parents use their judgement as to whether attendees will require the presence of a support person throughout the event.

Pricing is $25 per event, or $117 if registered for all 6 evenings (Includes participant and a caregiver). Register on Eventbrite.

In order to keep pricing down, we are looking for SPONSORS to provide DRINKS and SNACKS for ONE SESSION. Please let us know if you are able to offer this.

At Power Up Education, we believe that sexual health education is not optional and is best delivered from 2 years+ for the safety of our children.

Educating early does not strip our children of their innocence, but sexual abuse will.

Our EmpowerMe model - humour, play, connection and interaction deepens learning, increases retention and boosts confidence.

We promise:

1. A safe place

2. Practical tools

3. A sense of "I know what to do"
