About this event
The Quebec Religious and Spiritual Tourism Association features some of Québec's most beautiful treasures. These jewels of our heritage welcome four million visitors each year, a testament to their world-renowned influence and popularity. We invite you to discover the splendour of these sacred sites and embark on a unique, spiritual journey.
The association regroups many shrines, museums, attractions in the province of Québec. Some are unique architectural masterpieces. Generations of architects, artists and craftspeople from here and abroad have worked over decades to enrich the original monuments and make them into today's living museums—all of which bear witness to Québec's history. The shrines offer more than 2000 events each year. These places are enlivened by celebrations, concerts, exhibitions, conferences, retreats, and festivals every season. The shrines also feature original and affordable accommodations. Food services and meeting room rentals are also available at very reasonable prices.

During this presentation, we will be honored to welcome the Most Reverend Martin Laliberté, P.M.E., Auxiliary Bishop of Quebec City who will come to speak to us about the Holy Door that will open in 2023 at the Basilica-Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Quebec!
The Diocese of Quebec will celebrate its 350th anniversary in 2024 (1774-2024). The program of activities for this Jubilee has not yet been specified, but it is already known that the Holy Door of Notre-Dame de Québec will open on December 8, 2023 to mark the opening of the Jubilee Year. This Jubilee Year will end on December 8, 2024.
This holy door, the only one outside Europe, welcomes people from all walks of life who wish to make a spiritual journey through it. For Catholic Christians, this symbolic passage is experienced through Jesus Christ.
In its inaugural year, 2014, 335 000 people crossed the threshold of the only holy gate in America. It was reopened in the framework of the " Jubilee of Mercy " called by Pope Francis (2015-2016). Presumably, the Door will also be opened for the 2025 Jubilee of the Universal Catholic Church, which will be proclaimed by the Holy Father on a date unknown at the moment.
Preparations for the 350th anniversary of the diocese have begun and the official program will be announced in the coming months.
