On Saturday, November 19th, QUEENS CARE returns for an evening of glamour, impersonation and comedy celebrating Vancouver’s premiere drag entertainers. This ninth annual fundraising event, in loving memory of legendary Canadian female impersonator, Diana Rose, and Vancouver nightlife impresario and philanthropist, DJ Jules, has become a not-to-be-missed Vancouver tradition.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday November 19th at Celebrities Nightclub at 1022 Davie St., with doors opening at 7:00 pm and show-time at 7:30. One again, 100% of proceeds will benefit the Dogwood Monarchist Society charity fund, which this year includes: Out in Schools, Health Initiative for Men and Rainbow Refugee. Advanced tickets are available at www.queens-care9.eventbrite.ca or at Top Drawers & Little Sisters Bookstore.
Queens Care is the creation of entertainer, comedian, activist and Golden and Diamond Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal recipient, Joan-E, who dreamed that the event would “serve as a legacy for two close friends, colleagues and forces of nature we sadly lost too soon”. The festivities are co-hosted by Carlotta Gurl and Joan-E, with dancer support by the Snap Boys and music provided by noted Vancouver DJ’s, Del Stamp and Nick Bertossi.
100% Proceeds benefit Dogwood Monarchist Society Charities:
- Out in Schools
- The Health Initiative for Men
- Rainbow Refugee
