Join us for one of our three Family Night events hosted at the Queen's University Biological Station.

Natural History Boat Tour - July 8th, 2019

Join us at the Queen’s University Biology Station on July 8th for our first Family Night of the season, our Natural History Boat Tour! During this evening event, two pontoon boats will be driven out for an evening cruising on the lake. Leaders will be onboard each boat to teach about the natural processes which formed Opinicon lake and the history of ongoing research conducted here.

Meet at 7:00 pm in the Main Lodge for this event, it will run for approximately 1-2 hours rain or "shine”. A $5 fee will apply to cover the boat costs. This can be paid upon arrival.


Fascinating Fish – July 22nd, 2019

Come out to the Queen’s University Biology Station on July 22nd for Family Night! Enjoy an evening learning about Fascinating Fish! At this event you can learn to seine net, identify fish, and watch fish-tagging.

Meet at 7:00 pm in the Main Lodge for this free event, it will run for approximately 1-2 hours rain or "shine".


Brilliant Birds – August 12th, 2019

Visit the Queen’s University Biology Station on August 12th for the last Family Night of the summer! Starting with a lesson on bird identification, you’ll learn about local bird species and how to spot them outside. Afterwards, you can test your skills as we go on a nocturnal owl and bird hike to identify calls and birds.

Meet at 7:30 pm in the Main Lodge for this free event, it will run for approximately 1-2 hours rain or "shine".
