About this event
Participants will be led through a quick refresher of OUTSaskatoon's Queer 101 course. Participants will then be placed into small groups to work through practical scenarios they may face when trying to make their programs and spaces welcoming and inclusive.
Examples of these situations include:
- Inclusive washrooms and change facilities – How to create or modify space in aging facilities with few financial resources
- Gendered bathrooms and conflict with user groups – How to ensure every user feels safe, welcome and comfortable
- Keeping track of demographics – How to most appropriately request gender information when hiring or tracking user groups
There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions during the presentation and connect with the facilitator.
