Sudbury Downtown Indie Cinema Co-op is delighted to host the inaugural edition of Queer North Film Festival 2016, Thurs. June 23 to Sun. June 26, at Sudbury Secondary's Sheridan Auditorium in Downtown Sudbury.

QUEER NORTH is the only queer film festival in Northern Ontario.QUEER NORTH celebrates the diversity of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited communities through quality cinema. This inaugural year, festival will span 4 days in June drawing crowds from across the region with film premieres, artist talks, and parties that focus squarely on queer-themed films and videos from Canada and around the world.

Queer North Film Festival celebrates the Northern Ontario premieres of 8 outstanding feature films plus award-winning and local LGBTQ short films: documentary and fiction over the course of 4 days.

Sudbury Indie Cinema is Northern Ontario's premiere arthouse cinema. We bring the best in Canadian, documentary and foreign films to the big screen in Sudbury from our charmingUptown location-a 170 seat theatre at 162 Mackenzie St. The Indie is also home to 4 regional annual film festivals: Junction North, Queer North, Sudbury Outdoor Adventure Reels (SOAR), and Sudbury's Tiny Underground Film Festival ( STUFF.) Additionally we programme monthly series such as Samedi Cinema, WomenInFilmWednesdays, First Peoples Thursdays, Les petites vues, and others. We also actively support emerging artists and arts organizations to interface with the public at our multi-purpose venue.
