Description
Take the lead in getting a job — learn QuickBooks, the most widely used accounting software in Canadian businesses. .
Prerequisites: Knowledge of QuickBooks.
Course Content:
- How to set up opening balances (including customer, vendor and inventory) at start of year and part way through the fiscal year
- Additional inventory features - assembly of items - using the Bill of Materials feature; Group Items - bundling items together to sell as one item; assembly versus group items - which ones to use; Unit of Measures; Using PO's, sales orders and managing back orders
- Estimating and progress invoicing- creating proposals and quotes Job costing
- Multi Currency - how to deal with transactions in different currencies
- How to use Budget/Forecast feature in QuickBooks
- Billable hours and expenses - using time sheet and billing from time sheets
- Various HST issues - imports/exports, rebates and allowances
- Additional features in A/R and A/P - taking deposits, down payments and retainers; write off bad debts; deal with NSF's bounced cheques); charging interest on overdue accounts; using price lists and Vendor refunds
- Reports– modifying, filtering, memorizing reports; running memorized reports; exporting reports to Excel
- Forms and templates - customize forms and templates; use logos on your forms
- Safeguarding your QB's data. Data integrity issues and file maintenance
Tax Credit: Tuition tax credit forms will be issued.
Certificate: Participants receive a certificate of completion.
Refund Policy:
If you withdraw more than five business days before the start of the TechSkills class you have enrolled in, an 80% refund by cheque, or a reversal to your credit card, will be processed. If you withdraw five business days, or less, before the start of the TechSkills class you have enrolled in, you will receive no refund.
Cancellation Policy:
Skills for Change (SfC) strives to hold classes as scheduled, however if low enrolment or other circumstances beyond our control occur, SfC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes five business days prior to its commencement date.
