About this Event

Fabrics – you need 3 color ‘families’ a light, medium and dark of each. You need to definitely be able to see the difference between the Light, the Medium and the Dark to get the illusion. They don’t have to be solids but should ‘read’ as solids, that means that you don’t see a whole bunch of pattern when you look at the fabric – stand back or take a picture with your phone to see if it appears solid. You can use fat quarters if you want to.... there will be leftovers. The Dark Purple is used for the inner border, so the 10” by the width of the fabric (WOF) is the best way to go.

Light Blue – 6” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Med Blue – 6” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Dark Blue - – 6” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Light Purple – 5” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Med Purple– 3” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Dark Purple– 10” x WOF

Light Green– 3” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Med Green– 3” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Dark Green– 3” x WOF, a fat quarter is fine

Black (background and binding) 2.5 yards/ 2.3 metres

Sewing machine

Rotary Cutter, Ruler – 6” x 24” is my fave but 6” x 12” will do

Neutral thread, I use a cream or a grey

Pins

Elmer’s white washable school glue ( I will have some for you to try if you don’t have any).

Pen or pencil to take notes, if you want to bring 3 colored pencils to clarify the pattern it’s a great idea!
