There is a limited quantity of tickets available exclusively to TRSM students, Non-TRSM students, TRSM Alumni and Ryerson/TRSM faculty/staff members. At this time, we do not accept any individuals outside of Ryerson University, however, we are working on this. Please check-in with us in 2020.

**Please note that laptops are issued on a first-come-first serve basis. In the event that attendees exceed available laptops, attendees will be expected to use their own laptops to download the content/software. We always recommend that you bring a laptop with you to any registered Bootcamp.**

If you are interested in attending a specific Bootcamps but do not see an applicable ticket type, please email us at trsmbootcamps@ryerson.ca

New 'Sign-up Show-up' Policy Effective January 1st, 2020.

This policy targets students who are consistently signing up for Bootcamps and not attending them.

All students who sign up for a Bootcamp and do not show up without cancelling their tickets will be placed on a "no-show" list. There is a three-strike system that will be effective immediately. Once you receive your third strike, you will no longer be able to register for future bootcamps and our team will need to cancel your ticket immediately.

If you are unable to attend the Bootcamp you have signed up for, you must cancel your ticket by going back into Eventbrite and doing so at least 24-hours in advance to avoid getting on the no-show list.

We are putting this policy in place given the high demand for Bootcamps and long waiting lists of students who want to attend but are unable to do so due to a consistent number of no-shows.

Late Policy

The Bootcamp will begin no later than 12:10 PM. Kindly note once the session is in progress, registered attendees may not be admitted after 12:20 PM as the Bootcamp will be in progress. If you are running late, please email trsmbootcamps@ryerson.ca and we will try our best to accommodate you.

R

Have you ever wanted to learn how to program but didn’t know where to start? Have you ever wondered how programming can improve your data analyzing capabilities? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, this Bootcamp is for you!

R is a free data analytics software and one of the most popular programming languages used among statisticians, data analysts, developers and data miners. It is easier to understand than most traditional programming languages which makes it great for beginners with no programming experience. After attending all three levels, you would have taken away fundamental tools for data exploration, processing and statistical analysis using R software.

Here’s What You’ll Learn

Level 1: *Recommended experience: no experience required*

Introduction to R programming language

Data visualization within R

Clean and prepare information for various data management tasks

R packages and basic statistical operations

Level 2: *Recommended experience: Attendance of R level 1 or working knowledge of R data types and structures and the ggplot2 library*

Intermediate statistical analysis

Create prediction models

Utilize functions to generate reports and automate tasks

Level 3: *Recommended experience: Attendance of R Level 2 or a strong working knowledge of predictive modeling to build machine learning techniques*

Practice complex data visualization techniques

Use data from popular charts to create visualizations in R (examples: scatter plots, histograms, bar & stack)
