Join Charla Williams ( Moderator/Facilitator) and three well known and highly regarded forensic social workers, social justice advocates, educators and clinicians: Lana MacLean MSW RSW, Jackie Barkley MSW RSW, and Shawna Paris-Hoyte QC, PhD(stdt) MSW RSW for a one day mini-conference of professional development and information sharing as they present workshops on: intersectionality and service delivery in a challenging child protection system; the use of cultural Impact Assessments in the "best interest" of the child; addressing issues of race and culture in the litigation process; and cultural theory in understanding the transgenerational and intergenerational impact of race trauma on marginalized, racialized, and African Canadian children, youth, families and the community in the context of the current child welfare legislation.
