Event Information
Description
Want to swap dragon-slaying tips with your literary heroes?
One of the most promising new voices in literary fantasy, Rachel Harman, will discuss her eagerly awaited debut novel Seraphina (Doubleday Canada) with one of the genre’s leading practitioners, Kelley Armstrong, and conduct a short writing exercise for teenage wordsmiths, at the I Haven’t Read The Book Club.
What’s the buzz about Seraphina you ask?
“Beautifully written, well-rounded characters, and some of the most interesting dragons I’ve read in fantasy for a long while. An impressive debut novel; I can’t wait to see what Rachel Hartman writes next.” — Christopher Paolini, New York Times bestselling author of the Eragon series.
“Seraphina is strong, complex, talented — she makes mistakes and struggles to trust, with good reason, and she fights to survive in a world that would tear her apart. I love this book!” — Tamora Pierce, New York Times bestselling author.
Copies of Seraphina will be available for purchase from Mabel’s Fables.
THE I HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK CLUB is a bi-monthly literary salon presented by Small Print Toronto, Mabel’s Fables and Toronto Public Library wherein teenage wordsmiths take part in writing exercises and discuss the creative process with some of their favourite writers in an intimate setting.
