Description

This is a Pay What You Can talk (suggested donation $10 at the door) and Q&A, open to the public, based on Philip Shepherd’s new book, Radical Wholeness, which was published on November 21st, 2017. Featuring a Foreword by Jeff Brown, the book's message is a striking assessment of our culture’s debilitating blind spot, which lives in us all: our inability to sense wholeness. We do not feel the self as a whole, the body as a whole or the present as a whole; and when we cannot feel wholeness, we can neither feel nor accord with reality. Wholeness is the inescapable reality of the world: everything depends on everything, everything affects everything.

But the book does more than name our Achilles heel: it shows how our whole-blindness compromises our personal lives and throws us out of balance with our world. And more crucially, it provides practical ways to help you come home to the body, to the present, and to the resonance of your personal life. To return to wholeness is to discover a new kind of freedom.

Radical Wholeness has been praised by some of the foremost pioneers of our time:

“Radical Wholeness is a practical blueprint for embodying information in the service of human welfare and survival. Our future depends on the vision Philip Shepherd powerfully and eloquently presents in Radical Wholeness.”
—Larry Dossey, MD, Author of One Mind: How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters

“In this book, Shepherd has provided us with an extraordinary tool kit that tenderly and skillfully integrates mind, body, and soul with all life in the universe. If you long to reconnect with your deeper self, other living beings, and the Earth, you must read this book.”
—Carolyn Baker, PhD, Co-author with Andrew Harvey of Return to Joy and author of Love in the Age of Ecological Apocalypse: Cultivating the Relationships We Need to Thrive

“Reading Radical Wholeness offers us real hope, the kind of hope that sees a way out of the quagmire of living in a unsustainable way in our own lives and our shared world. If there was ever a time for this book—this is it! Read it. Breathe it in. Let it change how you see and live and love your life and the world.”
Oriah “Mountain Dreamer” House, Author of The Invitation

Please note: you don't need to print your tickets or present them at the door.

About the author:

Philip Shepherd is recognized as an international authority on embodiment. His unique techniques have been developed to transform our experience of self and world, and are based on the vision articulated in his celebrated books, New Self New World (2010) and Radical Wholeness (Nov 2017). The approach he takes heals the frantic, restless pace of the intelligence in the head, which tends to run on overdrive, by uniting it with the deep, present and calm intelligence of the body. This is an antidote to the prevailing view of embodiment, which involves sitting in the head and ‘listening to the body’; by contrast, Philip’s approach helps us listen to the world through the body. His personal path to understanding has been shaped by his adventures as a teenager, when he cycled alone through Europe, the Middle East, India and Japan; by his deep commitment to and studies of bodywork; by his experiences as an actor, playing lead roles on stages in London, New York, Chicago and Toronto; and by the burning desire for freedom that has illuminated his entire life.
