Meet our experts:

Neelam Advani

Assistant Branch Manager, RBC Brampton Newcomer Branch

Neelam is a multiple award winning Banking professional. Currently she is the Assistant Branch Manager at the RBC Meeting Place, a unique center that supports newcomers to Canada with advice on banking and beyond banking resources. Neelam is well known contributor to community events that support newcomer settlement. She collaborates with settlement organizations and internal RBC partners to facilitate information sessions on cultural integration, financial literacy and employment for her newcomer clients. She is a member of the Career Professionals of Canada, and is a Mentor at Acces Employment and at TRIEC. In her previous role, Neelam lived and worked in Hong Kong and Shanghai and has + 10 years experience as a lead for Business Development in fashion supply chain. Neelam has a Masters in Life Science from Mumbai and is a Graduate of the Business Edge Executive Program from Rotman University of Toronto.


Clarinda Andres

Digital Financial Advisor, RBC

Claire is a successful Financial Advisor with expertise in banking, credit and investments. As an advisor at the Newcomer Meeting place, Claire makes sure that she delivers both banking and beyond banking advice to all her clients and also volunteers her own time as a mentor for TRIEC and connector at Acces Employment as her way of giving back to the community. Having been hand picked to be part of an alternative banking format which is geared to helping newcomers, Claire goes out to the community to build relationships to collaborate and build partnerships with settlement organizations to deliver advice events to help newcomers in their settlement journey. Claire has an MBA degree and a successful business owner prior to coming to Canada with experience and passion for business development and project planning.


Shikha Bhuchar

Co-founder, Arrive

Shikha is one of the founders of Arrive, with over 8 years of banking industry experience, holding various roles in digital strategy, product management and marketing. Shikha has her Bachelors of Business Administration at the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. She is a former International Rhythmic Gymnast having represented Team Canada at the World Championships, and now spends her free time mentoring and coaching young gymnasts.


Sonia Sidhu

Product Lead, Arrive

Sonia is a Product Lead at RBC Ventures, where she works on both product innovation and engagement for Arrive - a platform dedicated to creating opportunities for newcomers to Canada . Previously, Sonia was the founder and CEO of a fashion e-commerce startup, Mohini, where she worked on creating innovative retail solutions, gained pre-seed funding, and was accepted into one of Canada's leading accelerators, NEXT Canada. Sonia is born and bred in Vancouver and holds a BCom from the University of British Columbia, where she also studied abroad for a semester at the ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona, Spain. In her spare time, Sonia recently started a non-profit called We Represent with the mission to create a generation of leaders that represents the world we walk through, with storytelling and creative programming for youth across Canada.
