Event description

Description

Canadian poet, novelist and critic Patricia Keeney will read from her two latest books, published in the fall of 2017: Orpheus in Our World, new poems on timeless forces inspired by the ancient Orphic hymns and accompanied by contemporary dialogue, and her novel, One Man Dancing, a high octane international adventure of artistic integrity and survival under the murderous regime of Idi Amin.

Keeney is a widely published author with translations of her work published in France, Mexico, China, Bulgaria, South Africa and India among others. In addition to her creative work, she is also a Professor of English and Creative Writing at York University in Toronto where she offers courses on Canadian Literature, Women in Literature and related subjects and conducts regular workshops in poetry and mixed genre writing.

Copies of Patricia's books will be available for purchase at this reading.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, which last year invested $153 million to bring the arts to Canadians throughout the country.

Nous remercions le Conseil des arts du Canada de son soutien. L’an dernier, le Conseil a investi 153 millions de dollars pour mettre de l’art dans la vie des Canadiennes et des Canadiens de tout le pays.
