Event description

Description

We will be reading and discussing “The Great Work” by eco-theologian Thomas Berry. At the beginning of the 21st century wide-spread environmental destruction demonstrates that economic theories and industrial technologies that prevailed in the previous century have come up against the limits of what the natural world can sustain. Berry is optimistic that we can forge a new relationship with nature in which humans become a beneficial presence on the Earth. This is our Great Work. Discussions will focus on what Thomas Berry’s vision means for us as individuals and for our communities.
