REAP: Create your own 3D Business Card
Lunch and Learn
Friday May 8, 2015 at 12:00pm
As our desktop and laptop computers are becoming more powerful in terms of capacity and processing speed and with the new interest in and possibilities of 3D printing technology, working with 3D software is becoming less challenging. However, despite there being so many options available, a few problems remain the same. Which software has a short learning curve and is less costly (or even free)? Which one is most efficient while being compatible with the other hardware we have? Would it work with 3D printer formats?
Autodesk seems to be trying to address these issues with some of its free 123D products, which we will use during this one hour lunch and learn session. We will specifically show the work flow with 123D design software by designing business cards.
What is needed:
- Please bring your own laptop or tablet so you can follow along
- Download a free version of 123D software ahead of time
Please register for lunch as we order based on the number of registrants we have. Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm, however, the lab is open from 10am to 4pm, so drop in during those hours even if you can't make it for lunch.
Please note that on May 15th we will not be hosting a lunch and learn. However, the lab will still be open, so feel free to drop in between 10am - 4pm.
