REAP: End of Term Party & Robot Wars with Brick Works Academy
Lunch and Learn
Friday June 17, 2016 at 12:00pm - 1:00pm
It's that time of year again! You can't end a term without a party, and you know there ain't no party like a REAP party. We're proud to say we think we have outdone ourselves this time.
Thanks to the generosity of David Goodfellow of Brick Works Academy, we are able to end the term with a bang. Or maybe that's a crunch? Whatever the sound of two robots waging war on one another makes is the sound you'll be hearing at this party (and excessive shouting and cheering too of course!)
This is in addition to a delicious BBQ lunch & patio-worthy drinks we'll be serving. Can you think of a better way to kick off the summer?! Register fast for this one as tickets will go fast, and due to the hands-on nature of the event, we will have to limit space to first-come, first-served.
Here's how it will run:
- People will be put into teams of 3-4 to work on modularizing their robots for battle
- Two sets of battles will take place at one time, with winning teams being declared based on best 2 out of 3
- Winning teams will compete against each other until a winning team is declared
10:00am - 11:50pm - Open Lab
12:00pm - 1:00pm - BBQ, Drinks, & Robot Wars!
1:00pm - 2:00pm - Drinks & Networking on the Patio (if the weather is nice)
2:00pm - 4:00pm - Open Lab
Our lunch and learns are a great way to network while enjoying a free lunch, and learning something new. Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone who you think will enjoy attending!
Construction & Parking Information
There is construction taking place on King Street which will be blocking access to our parking lot. In order to access our parking, you will need to drive past the lab and turn left onto Albert Street. Drive past the Home Hardware parking entrance to the second parking entrance on the bend.
Free parking is available in the lot behind Quarry Communications at 1440 King Street North, St. Jacobs.

About REAP & The Felt Lab
REAP (Research Entrepreneurs Accelerating Prosperity) sparks creative minds to explore the latest interactive, machine-to-machine, and digital display technologies, challenging students to build innovative business opportunities on top of our partners' technologies. REAP is a leader in platform entrepreneurship. Rather than building technologies from scratch, REAP students learn to make existing technologies do new things for new markets. In this way, REAPsters create new business opportunities for themselves while contributing to the ongoing success of our partners and Waterloo Region as a whole.
