Event description
You are invited to join us for Phoenix Chamber Choir’s 37th Annual Season: Reawakening. Tickets on sale now!

About this Event

With the key additions of our new Artistic Director, Nicholle Andrews, and Assistant Conductor, Ian Bannerman, we are eager to welcome you into this new chapter with us.

Included in a season ticket package is admission to all three of our concerts. Each one will offer adventurous and diverse music.

Elements | October 26, 2019 | Shaughnessy Heights United Church

The first concert, Elements will take listeners on a journey through air, water, and earth and will feature music by Marie Claire Saindon (Canada), Ēriks Ešenvalds (Latvia), Eric Whitacre (USA) and Alberto Grau (Venezuela).

Phoenix Christmas | December 14 & 15, 2019 | Shaughnessy Heights United Church (12/14) & West Vancouver United Church (12/15)

The second concert(s) will be a longtime Phoenix favourite: A Phoenix Christmas. This special blend of sacred and secular tunes always marks the holiday season for our singers and fans. We will need your help singing some familiar carols at this delightful annual tradition.

Earth Songs | April 22, 2020 | VanDusen Botanical Garden

The third and final concert of the season, Earth Songs, will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day and will take place at the stunning VanDusen Botanical Garden. Travel with the choir as they perform works from around the world featuring composers Sarah Hopkins (Australia), Andrew Balfour (Canada), Tõnu Kõrvits (Estonia) and Fidel G. Calalang Jr. (Philippines). This concert will also feature a world premier, commissioned by Phoenix Chamber Choir, by Canadian composer Katerina Gimon.

Stay tuned for news about Phoenix’s new album releasing in late summer 2020.
