The REBIRTH OF VENUS is a Virtual Psychedelic Womens Health Summit hosted by Bea Chan and Mia Cara Cosco.
About this event
As Western women with research and unmatched resources at our disposal, why are we left to scratch our heads more often than not about our health as women? Why does birth control and menstruation still seem so taboo to talk about openly, even though these cycles literally dictate the Earth's existence? We, as Western women, are here to honor the women that co-exist with us on this planet and that have come before: Indigenous women who have answers in the plants/plant medicine interactions with our health.
If not now, when?
If not you, who?
If not here, where?
Venus, when painted by Boticelli, was believed to be the ideal of Womanhood and Femininity - innocent and meant to be covered up, untouched and pure. While we can claim this side, we also want to include the other facets of US that make way for the Kali, the Joan of Arc, the Grace Jones that is not altogether pretty, innocent or doe-eyed and sweet. We are meant, at the very least, to be exposed and understood, to be learned from and analyzed , even. Research, instead of ignorance, is encouraged here.
What this event also aims to achieve is a safe space to speak candidly and share anecdotes. Why hasn't the research been as inclusive of women or studied womens health? You may receive more answers than you think to this question... regardless, expect a tribal sangha of sovereign strength in reclaiming wisdom in our health.
