Event description

Join us on Granville Island in Vancouver, BC for an experiential and intimate yoga-infused leadership retreat where you will connect to meaning so you can emerge with centred resilience.

This is a unique leadership development retreat specifically incorporating what the research tells us has women thrive as leaders.

This retreat blends body-mind-spirit practices, yoga asana, pranayama, and leadership coaching structured to nurture your essential self, build courage, and enhance focus. You will clear the way for your values, signature strengths and unique perspectives to centre and guide you in your life and leadership.

We bring your focus to the recognition of your essential self.

  • What no longer serves?

  • Who are you at your core?

  • What are you going to embrace?

We are our own biggest obstacles. Like the Phoenix, there's a need to burn through the layers of self to get to the core of your being: a place where you recognize your unique expression of courage, wisdom and peace.

  • Better understand your own strengths, values, emotions and harness them in more powerful ways.

  • Discover new and deeper truths about yourself.

  • Develop the foundation that will enhance your confidence so you show up more grounded, skillful and authentic in your leadership inspiring trust from your team.

  • Develop your resilience with concrete practices to replenish your well of physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual energy.

  • Receive a workbook brimming with self-reflection exercises, resources and extras that will support you in aligning with your core values and signature strengths and nurturing your ability to return to your essential self to guide you in your leadership and life.

The flow of the day will include:

  • Three yoga sessions

  • Guided self-reflection exercises

  • Group dialgoue activities

  • A nourishment break

You have a deep desire for a more authentic, grounded experience so you can shape your leadership from values, vision, and the unique and powerful perspectives only you, as a woman, can bring. You want to live and lead heart-first with a courage and power rooted in your values.

You are either emerging in your leadership, brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, and ready to be your most powerful self. Or, perhaps you are mid-career and you want to discover deeper truths about yourself, leverage your unique strengths and re-invigorate your presence as a leader.

Either way, you want to bring the whole of yourself into how you show up as a leader and you desire a retreat that is wholly focused on helping you be a woman who leads like a woman - from inspiration, intuition, interrelation and inclusion.

And when we say 'leader' we take that to mean whatever it means to you, be it leading a new direction in your life, leading in an organizaiton, leading as an entrepreneur, leading a project or event. Perhpas you intend to take on a new and exciting challenge. Perhaps you desire have a bigger impact in the world. Whatever it is, you want to have a clear and strong voice and to be able to engage people in your vision.

*This retreat includes yoga practice, so if you are differently abled, please let us know. We will do our best to be inclusive within the parameters of our venue.

Nancy Chenier, RYT-200 Yoga Instructor

The strength and agility of the body and mind are gifts that we carry off the mat and into the world, enabling us to face life’s challenges–be they great or mundane–with steadiness and ease. My hope is to nurture those gifts on the mat with mindfulness as well as a sense of joy. Having studied with some incredible teachers in Canada and abroad, I’m honored to be able to share the practice with others.

Delaney Tosh, PCC, Certified Professional Co-Active Coach

My desire is a world fundamentally changed by the contributions, voices and participation of women who are living and leading by their own rules.

My sixteen years experience coaching leaders, leadership teams and business owners, supporting them in leadership development, strategic planning, business development and team productivity has made one thing clear to me: that women continue to come under intense pressure and scrutiny when they take the lead. Frustrated by witnessing brilliant women playing down their differences to fit in, playing small and not stepping wholly and authentically into their power, I have evolved my work to focus solely on coaching women of vision, women who wish to lead from from their whole selves with confidence and the savvy to navigate the challenges they face.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is free parking spread across Granville Island (as well as paid). The best candidate is the northeast lot near the boat charters (Bobbie Lee, Salmon King). When entering Granville Island by car, you are channeled in a counter-clockwise direction along Cartwright Street. Stay in the left lane so you can take the first left onto Old Bridge Street. At the end of Old Bridge, turn left onto Johnston Street. Once past the Public Market, Johnston horseshoes into Duranleau Street. Once around the curve, the free lot is on the right.

Ocean Breath Yoga School faces the water on the west side of the island. If walking from the parking lot, continue south along Duranleau. Turn right after STRUB Activewear and walk toward the marina. Turn left on the Foreshore walkway. The studio space is on the left.

#50 False Creek

The #50 False Creek bus comes from Gastown in the downtown area, along Granville St., and stops just off Granville Island, at the intersection of Anderson St. and West 2nd Ave. It will let you off on the southeast side of West 2nd Ave. Look for the large Granville Island sign and the yellow and rainbow-ed Kids Market along Anderson St. northward.

For more ways to get to Granville Island visit the Getting Granville Island info page.
