Mireille LaPointe, past chief of Ardoch Algonquin First Nation, co-chair of the Indigenous Health Council, and a high school teacher in Perth.

will be back in Almonte on Friday May 3, 7:00 – 9:30 for the first film in our Reconciliation Movie Night series: Reel Injun examines the portrayal of Indigenous Peoples in film. Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond explores this through excerpts of films, interviews, and visits to filming locations.

Reviewers say “an entertaining and insightful look at the portrayal of North American Indigenous people throughout a century of cinema”. The documentary will be followed by a Talking Circle to share our thoughts about our experience.
