Session Description:

In an increasingly global economy, opportunities arise for Canadian charities to accept gifts from US donors. Learn how your US donors can donate AND receive a US tax receipt when they support your Canadian charity.

Learning Outcomes:

• Learn how Canadian charities can accept gifts from US individuals and charitable foundations.
• Learn how Canadian individuals and foundations can support charitable organizations outside of Canada.
• Develop a better understanding of the charitable rules restricting gifts by Canadians in support of international charities, and charitable gifts by Americans to Canadian charities.

Intended Audience: This session is directed towards Canadian fundraisers who are seeking gifts from US based charitable foundations and individual donors who have US sourced income.
