Description

A story of hope, resilence and compassion in a time of war in Ukraine.

"Recovery Room" is a feature documentary (75 minutes) that tells the story of several humanitarian Canadian Medical Missions to Ukraine. Plastic surgeons with their specialized team of 25 Canadian health professionals, perform reconstructive surgeries on wounded Ukrainian soldiers - victims of the Russian invasion of Eastern Ukraine. The team has just completed its 5th mission.

"Recovery Room" is earning international accolades, and brings the ongoing struggle in Ukraine to the world stage. While it shows the bleak realities for innocent Ukrainians, it is also a story of hope, and the selfless Canadians determined to help.

This film screening follows the successful fundraiser in September 2016 in which the Ottawa Ukrainian community raised $10,000 for this very cause.

The film's producer and director will be in attendance.

Proceeds from this screening will help offset the cost of the documentary.

Light refreshments will be served. Free parking behind the buildling.
