Recruiting participants for University of Calgary study

About this event

The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary is currently recruiting participants for a study titled "Advancing critical race pedagogical approaches in social work education," led by Dr. Patrina Duhaney, the study's lead researcher. This study has been approved by the University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board (REB21-1114). The purpose of this study is to create an experiential critical race theory (CRT) course within an undergraduate social work classroom.

We are conducting interviews with students, critical race scholars and community educators/advocates. To be eligible to participate in this study, individuals must meet one of the following criteria as either: 1) a student who has taken or currently taking a critical race theory course or related course; 2) a critical race theory scholar; or 3) a community educator or advocate applying critical race theory in policy and practice while forwarding the issues of racial equity.

If you are interested in participating in the study, please let us know, and we will reach out to you to arrange a brief pre-screening interview. The pre-screening interview is a brief 5-10 minute conversation via phone call or Zoom to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the study and answer any questions you may have. Thank you in advance for supporting us in this important work. If you are interested in participating, please contact
