Event description

Description

If you are looking for a competitive edge, this is a session you don’t want to miss. Do you want to dramatically increase your conversion rate? Or drive those KPIs higher?

New products/experiences or old ones, it does not matter. In fact, industry leaders have seen upwards ROI of 600% when tapping social and psychological principles to influence and drive user behavior and decision-making through strategy, design, and language.

Session Overview

Persuasion in design is often regarded as a subset of UX/UI, but it goes beyond the mechanics of traditional design and taps into behaviour economics and strategy. It’s about understanding the emotions that influence people’s behavior and decision-making and understanding how humans work in general and then acting on that information to design compelling user interactions.

Previously persuasion in design was used mostly for e-commerce sites, but in fact, the skill can be successfully applied to intranets, mobile devices, gaming, services and, in fact, any product or tool that is intended to drive some form of human behaviour – from clicking, to scrolling, to adding another item to the cart. After all, great experiences that delivery, are by design.

This seminar is highly interactive. Participants will be asked in advance to select some experiences that will be used as examples for analysis – including an eCommerce website, a brand website, an app, and a SAAS product.

Key Learnings

After this session, you will have the skills to:

  • Leverage human behavior principles, like cognitive bias and judgmental heuristics, in your strategy and experience design

  • Leverage influencing principles, like scarcity and anchoring to drive the behavior you want

  • Leverage visual design principles, like law of continuation and Fitt’s law to ensure your strategies are working

  • Tap online tools to test, learn, and improve your visual implementations – before you launch and when you launch

Who should attend?

Anyone involved in digital product, web, or app creation. Designers, programmers, writers, product managers, project managers, client service/account people, strategists, sole proprietors, start-ups, and VPs can all benefit from this session.

Whether you already do testing and want to know more, or have never tested and want to start, or even if you don't ever intend to do your own testing but are responsible for hiring, managing, or paying other people to do it, this session will prove valuable.
