Michael Finkel

Michael Finkel is the author of True Story: Murder, Memoir, Mea Culpa, which was adapted into a 2015 major motion picture. He has written for National Geographic, GQ, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, and The New York Times Magazine. He lives in western Montana with his wife and three children. Witi Ihimaera

Witi Ihimaera was the first Maori to publish a novel, Tangi, in 1973. His best-known novel, The Whale Rider, became an internationally acclaimed film in 2002. Today, he is one of New Zealand’s leading writers, with 14 novels, seven story collections, three plays, and four film adaptations to his credit. He was a member of the international faculty at the Banff Center, and, in 2017, was awarded the French Order of Arts and Letters. He lives in New Zealand. Read more...

Wayne Johnston

Wayne Johnston was born and raised in the St. John’s area of Newfoundland. His nationally bestselling novels include The Divine Ryans, A World Elsewhere, and The Colony of Unrequited Dreams, which has been made into a stage play and is being developed as a TV series. Esta Spalding is an award-winning screenwriter and producer for film and television, poet, novelist and children’s author. She grew up on a tropical island where she never wore shoes, and has since lived all over the world.
