About this event
The African Arts & Culture Society invites BC Black Canadians communities to the forum it is hosting. The Forum will focused on the International Decade for People of African Descent by tackling the following topics:
- Black Ownership,
- Generating Wealth,
- Media & Arts Representation,
- Black Identity,
- Mental & Physical Health,
- Accessing Justice,
- Community Safety,
- Migration and Inclusion,
- Education,
- Democratic Engagement,
- Access to Affordable,
- Housing and Shelter.
The Decade is significant as it promotes respect, protection, and fulfillment of human rights of people of African Descent. We believe that this event is in line with the objectives of celebrating Black History Month.
We hope to welcome residents from neighbouring cities such as Vancouver, and Nanaimo and beyond as well as official dignitaries. Attendees will attend each session, which will be moderated by a topic expert. Attendees will also be welcome to take part in a scheduled itinerary which includes visits to the Legislature, Government House, and other local areas of interest.
