Regional Well-Being Conference

By Raising the Villages

Overview

We look forward to welcoming you to Wagmatcook for this important day of connection and collective action.

Book your spot for the Regional Well-Being Conference taking place on Thursday, March, 26th 2026 between 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Wagmatcook Culture and Heritage Centre.

This spring gathering will offer an opportunity to share, learn, and strategically advance our region's commitment to upstream health and well-being across Eastern Nova Scotia.

Our focus will be to:
-have a cup of tea together—turn off the digital world and share what well-being looks like for you and your community.
-explore how to move Eastern Nova Scotia towards a “whole of community” approach that integrates services, social connectivity, and programs into accessible, welcoming spaces for everyone—from infants to elders.
-examine how existing data and resources (Engage Nova Scotia's Quality of Life Survey, ASI's Policy Brief 'UPSTREAM INVESTMENT Placing Infant, Child, and Youth mental health promotion at the forefront', the Early Development Instrument, housing stats, poverty rates, etc.) can be used to better understand how we are doing and advocate for what we need.
-use this data as a catalyst to increase cooperation, collaboration, planning, and action to sustain and expand integrated models of upstream investment.
-review how emerging policies—such as the Office of Addictions and Mental Health’s Community Wellness Framework—offer opportunities to shape and advocate for what is needed to ensure long-term health and prosperity in rural communities.

Participants can also look forward to a workshop presented by Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities (ASI) 'Mental Health is more than you can imagine'.
