Event description

Description

Industry and municipal representatives are invited to attend the Reimagining the Mall Forum.

The City of Mississauga, together with the Region of Peel, is undertaking a study, Reimagining the Mall, to guide the long-term evolution of five suburban areas anchored by medium-sized shopping malls into healthier, mixed use communities.

These malls and their surrounding areas have already been identified for intensification in the City’s Official Plan. This study and the resulting policies will help ensure that future intensification is done in a way that enhances these areas and sets the framework for future redevelopment.

The Forum will bring together various disciplines to discuss emerging trends and best practices for the redevelopment of retail centres across the Greater Toronto Area. It will include a panel discussion on retail, economics, culture, and urban design as well as a presentation on the importance of healthy communities.
