Rekindling Democracy: A Conversation with Cormac Russell
Event Information
About this Event
Join us for a conversation with Cormac Russell to discuss, Rekindling Democracy - A Professional’s Guide to Working in Citizen Space.
In his new book, Cormac explores the need for individuals to move away from being consumers of services and argues that as citizens we "must be at the centre of any authentic and powerful democratic response” to the current socioeconomic challenges that we face.
Cormac asserts that neighbourhood issues will not be solved by organizations, professionals or institutions but rather citizens need to be recognized for their assets and hold the power to co-create democratic responses for change.
At a time when governments, businesses, NGOs and citizens are struggling to adapt to many challenges, the insights and lessons in Rekindling Democracy can help us to consider new ways to move forward and reimagine our world from a hyper-local perspective.
A zoom link will be emailed to you on the morning of the event.
