Feel free to do whatever makes you feel comfortable, whether that’s moving around, making noise, staying quiet, or stimming</li><li>meet with CAMH program and service staff*</li><li>visit the Empowerment Council* office and connect with like-minded folks who believe in justice and systemic change</li><li>meet representatives from the The Azrieli Self-Advocate Advisory Group*</li><li>meet representatives from the CAMH Youth Engagement Initiative (YEI) *</li><li>browse the library collections, free CAMH publications, and educational resources</li><li>figet toys and stress ball giveaways (while quantites last)</li><li>stations with puzzles and colouring pages</li><li>relaxed social area with a separate quiet zone</li></ul>*more info below1 - 4 PM Starbucks treat station<ul><li>free coffee and treats</li><li>provided by the Youth Engagement Initiative (YEI) based in CAMH’s McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health and the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program.</li></ul>1:30 - 3 PM Mosaic Fabric Collage Keepsake Boxes and Canvas Art Workshop with Apanaki Temitayo<ul><li>Use collage techniques to create a beautiful wooden keepsake box or a canvas collage with colourful African fabrics</li><li>this workshop will take place at two large harvest tables next to Queen street facing windows</li><li>people are welcome to chat and socialize while working on their art pieces</li></ul> About the space:<ul><li>the Patient and Family Learning Space (PFLS) is a long open-plan room with info pamphlets, resource tables, and comfortable chairs</li><li>there are floor to ceiling windows that face onto Queen street</li><li>we have a free little library, children's zone with crafts and books, two public computer kiosks, and an all season vertical grow garden</li><li>we keep the overhead lights off and the blinds up for natural light</li><li>our space is non-clinical but the overhead speaker system announces hospital wide messages</li><li>we can provide information about accessing clinical services or call for clinical support should you need it but we do not have clinicians in the space</li><li>there will be a designated quiet zone if you need to step away</li><li>our space is wheelchair accessible</li><li>washrooms are located outside the space in the hallways connected to the lobby at 1025 Queen Street west</li><li>you can enter the PFLS directly from Queen Street, from the main lobby, and from the doors next to Mofer Coffee</li><li>this document provides step by step instructions for each possibly entry point: <a href="https://www.camh.ca/-/media/education-files/camh-pfls-directions2024-pdf.pdf" title="https://www.camh.ca/-/media/education-files/camh-pfls-directions2024-pdf.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Directions to the PFLS</a></li></ul> *Meet and greet with staff, lived experience advisors, and members from:<a href="https://www.camh.ca/en/patients-and-families/programs-and-services/patient-and-family-learning-space" title="https://www.camh.ca/en/patients-and-families/programs-and-services/patient-and-family-learning-space" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">RBC Patient and Family Learning Space</a>The RBC Patient and Family Learning Space (PFLS) is an interactive hub for patients, families and the community to access reliable information about mental health, substance use and recovery. We offer our services in-person and virtually, and our resources are available in print, web and app format. Through the PFLS you can attend interactive workshops and webinars, and discover a variety of community-based services that might help you in your recovery. <a href="https://www.camh.ca/en/patients-and-families/programs-and-services/family-resource-centre" title="https://www.camh.ca/en/patients-and-families/programs-and-services/family-resource-centre" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Family Resource Centre</a>The Family Resource Centre offers resources and information to families and friends of people with mental illness and/or addiction challenges.You can meet the friendly FRC staff and learn about the difference services available to families at CAMH. <a href="https://www.camh.ca/en/health-info/camh-library" title="https://www.camh.ca/en/health-info/camh-library" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CAMH Mental Health and Sciences Library</a>The CAMH Library is open to staff, patients, families, and the public! You can browse the collections and make a card for a library dedicated to mental health sciences research, clinical practice, and the best lived experience collection in the city! <a href="https://clc.camh.ca/" title="https://clc.camh.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Collaborative Learning College</a>The Collaborative Learning College is a recovery college that offers nonclinical-based education and training programs to people who have lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges, and who feel ready to set goals, gain skills and make social connections as part of their personal journey. In keeping with internationally adopted approach to recovery-oriented education, the courses offered at the Collaborative Learning College are:<ul><li>co-created and co-led by people with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction challenges and/or social services use</li><li>offered free of charge</li><li>adaptable to local needs and resources</li><li>open to people who have experienced mental health and/or addiction challenges and/or social services use, their family members, friends and health care providers, when appropriate.</li></ul> Youth Engagement Initiative (YEI) is based in CAMH’s McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health and the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program. The YEI facilitates meaningful collaboration between youth with lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges, service providers and researchers to inform service planning, policy development and research within CAMH and the greater community. The Azrieli Self-Advocate Advisory Group is made up of adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities who play a pivotal role in shaping our centre's projects and programs.
