Description

Workshop

*Please note: This workshop is by invite only and not open to the public. If you have not received an invitation to register, please contact Michael Dawe at michael.dawe@usask.ca*

The University of Saskatchewan and SaskPolytech is bringing together international experts, government, industry, Indigenous and community members to develop best pratices for transitioning to renewable energy in remote, rural, Indigenous and Northern communities.

On September 5th, we are hosting a public symposium featuring panel presentations and discussion. To register for that event, click here.

The goal of this September 6th workshop is to create opportunities for Canadian and international leaders in utility, industry, Indigenous communities and post-secondary education to establish a consortium with an interest in advancing a growing renewable energy sector in Indigenous and remote communities in Western Canada.

This workshop will allow participants to identify priorities of the consortium research, to address the challenges related to wide-scale development of renewable energy at various levels (locally, nationally, and internationally), and help us begin to address the various technical challenges associated with the development of renewables in micro-grid communities.

For more information, visit our website.

Accomodation in Saskatoon

For those needing accomodation in Saskatoon, we'd suggest staying at the Parktown Hotel. This hotel is walking distance to the University, or a quick cab ride. There will be a shuttle leaving the Parktown Hotel and going to Wanuskewin Heritage Park the morning of September 6. Watch this page for more details.
