Part of the Renewable Energy Seminar Series, with experts ranging from industry, academia, and government.

Climate adaptation is an emerging field and Edmonton is at the forefront. Climate Resilient Edmonton: Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan was adopted by City Council in 2020 and the City is putting the plan into action. Learn about climate changes projected for Edmonton, impacts that climate change can have on the community, and adaptation actions to address these challenges.

About the Speakers

Danielle Koleyak; Environmental Project Manager, City of Edmonton

Danielle Koleyak, M.EDes., P.Ag, is an Environmental Project Manager at the City of Edmonton who is securing scientifically-researched information to inform us of what Edmonton’s climate will be in the future, and what we can do now to adapt to it. Danielle’s expertise has also been invaluable for updating Edmonton’s Energy Transition Strategy.

About the Seminar Series

McNeil Centre for Applied Renewable Energy (McNeil C.A.R.E) and the Concordia Alumni Association are proud to present the Renewable Energy Speaker Series. This speaker series aims to provide CUE members (students, alumni, staff and faculty) and the community in general with the opportunity to explore renewable energy solutions, learn about the challenges faced by the sustainable energy sector (industry, government and society), careers in the renewable energy sector and interact with experts from across Canada and beyond.

Organizer of Renewable Energy Seminar Series

The McNeil Centre for Applied Renewable Energy (McNeil CARE) was established at Concordia University of Edmonton in December 2019 and is housed in the BMO Centre for Innovation and Applied Research (BMO-CIAR). As a multi-disciplinary centre, McNeil CARE collaborates, communicates, and jointly advances the adoption of renewable energy technologies across Canada, with a primary focus on Albertan communities.
