Repair Cafe Pop-up
Date and time
Description
Kitchener-Waterloo Library of Things, repair volunteers and fabric and sewing studio Spool & Spindle are partnering to bring you a Repair Cafe.
If you have an item to repair, and would love to see someone skilled show you how to do the repair, then get yourself a ticket for our Repair Cafe pop-up to be held on Saturday Sept 28th, 9:15-1:00 p.m.
Learning to repair is priceless, but due to our talented volunteers' big hearts, this event is free!
Repair types available:
-
Jewelry - ring troubles? Broken clasp? Beads gone bad? Bring in your jewelry pieces for some TLC
-
Small household appliance and electronic items: 120V, and small enough that you can carry it
-
Clothes repair - holey sweaters and other knits, torn trousers or ripped jeans, jackets needing patches...whatever it is, bring it clean.
We’ll also have a DIY repair station to learn basic skills like sewing on a button, using food-safe glue, and more.
Light refreshments available while you work :)
Bonus: $50/year gets you a LOT membership, giving you a whole lot of tools to do your own repairs + workshops like this to build your repair skills. Memberships also make great gifts!
