Event description

Description

Replicating Things by 3D Scanning and 3D Printing:

Summer Day Camp for STEAM Makers (Grade 1-9)

Are you intrigued with 3D Printing and 3D Scanning? Would you like to learn how to operate a handheld 3D scanner and a desktop 3D printer to create copies of real objects? Look no further than Makerwiz Summer Day Camp in Replicating Things by 3D Scanning and 3D Printing!

3D Printing is a digital fabrication process in which material is added layer by layer on top of each other to create real objects. 3D Scanning is a data collection process using devices that analyze real objects or environment to obtain information about their shapes and appearances. In this 5-day Summer Camp, participants (Grade 1 to Grade 9) will learn how to use different handheld 3D scanners to create 3-dimensional files of real objects. They will also learn to operate several desktop 3D printers (by MakerBot and LulzBot) to make copies of the original objects, essentially replicating them. Moreover, campers will participate in a week-long competition among 3 teams (The Reds, The Blacks and The Whites). The victorious team will win prizes but everyone will be able to take home a 3D printed copy of their 3D portraits.

Spaces are extremely limited. Register ASAP! Early Bird tickets are on sale until February 28 only.
