Res Talks

The Res Talks series is put on by the Ryerson Students' Union Equity Service Centres and the Ryerson Residence Council.

"Sex in the PIT"

Wednesday September 27th 2017 @ 7:00pm-9:00pm (PIT 200)

Join us for a workshop lead by Come As You Are as we explore topics of sex, sexual health, healthy relationships, consent and sexual and gender diversity. It's going to be lots of fun!

"Urban Gardening"

Wednesday November 1st 2017 @ 12:00pm-2:00pm (PIT 200)

Join us for a workshop around how to build your own indoor garden for the winter hibernation. We'll provide all the tools and resources and you'll get to leave with your own indoor garden to take care of.

"ASL 101 & Intro to Deaf Culture"

Wednesday November 15th 2017 @ 7:00pm-9:00pm (PIT 200)

Interested in learning some American Sign Language? It's a language in itself so we'll just give you a brief introduction to some of the basic elements of the language, and more importantly give you an introduction to Deaf and hard of hearing culture that will help create more accessible spaces and conversations.

"Conflict Management & Coping"

Residence Life is like every other part of society - it comes with conflict, stress and burnout. This workshop will help you navigate some of the conflicts that arise, specifically out of microaggressions so that you can integrate systems of self-care, call-in/out practices and coping strategies into your daily routines.

"Iron Chef Residence"

Wednesday February 28th 2018 @ 7:00pm-9:00pm (PIT 200)

Think you got what it takes to be the master chef of Pitman Residence? We'll set up a portable kitchen in Pitman Hall where you and your team of sous chefs will be able to cook a food secure meal on a low cost budget... and there will be prizes too!

"Intro to Financial Aid"

Wednesday March 21st 2018 @ 12:00pm-2:00pm (PIT 200)

Our last workshop will be an opportunity to learn about financial aid systems so that you can navigate bursaries, grants and loans.
