WestGrid is hosting a series of free workshop sessions at the University of Northern British Columbia in May 2018 that will provide hands-on introductions to high-performance computing (HPC), scientific visualization with ParaView, programming with Python, and parallel programming with Chapel.

There is no cost to attend, but you must register in advance. To register, click the green "Register" button on this page. You can attend all session or simply the ones that interest you the most.

Sessions Topics:

  • Day 1:
    3D scientific visualization with ParaView

  • Day 2:
    Morning Session - Introductory Python
    Afternoon Session - Introduction to HPC

  • Day 3:
    Parallel programming with Chapel

Participant Requirements:

  • This workshop will feature interactive hands-on exercises, so you will need to bring a laptop and power cord you can use during the sessions.

  • No prior experience is required for any of the topics covered in this workshop. These will be introductory sessions, targeted at researchers who are new to using these tools.
