Event description
Learn about Research Data Management, best practices, and resources to help you develop a data management plan.

About this Event

Join Public Services Librarian, Alison Farrell, to learn about Research Data Management (RDM). RDM is an integral part of a research project, but has not been given much attention up until recently. This session will provide a brief overview of the Canadian landscape in RDM, changes that are coming to funding requirements, and how the Portage Network is working with higher education institutions to create training materials and other resources to support data management. We will also look at practical aspects of RDM, such as best practices, developing data management plans, and sharing your data.

Alison Farrell is a Public Services Librarian at the Health Sciences Library at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Alison plays an active role in Research Data Management (RDM) at Memorial, including sitting on various RDM committees and leading the university’s institutional strategy RDM working group. Alison is also involved in developing training modules for various aspects of RDM at the National level.
