Responsible Consumption 101
Event Information
About this event
The staggering levels of consumption in the developed world have a major impact on our environment and the health of our planet. In the past decades, they have also contributed to the rise of inequalities and exacerbated the gap between rich and poor. Responsible consumption is about changing the way we buy to counter these negative impacts.
This interactive workshop will describe the principles of responsible consumption and provide concrete tools to help you become a better, more conscious consumer.
Valérie Leloup (BEd'08 and BA'12) is the co-founder and CEO of NU Grocery, Ottawa’s zero waste grocery stores. With her team at NU Grocery, she’s on a mission to eliminate waste and reinvent consumption.
A gift basket of local products from Nu Grocery stores will be drawn among the workshop participants.
