Speaker Sessions

The Mustard Seed is hosting Speaker Sessions to bring our community together through education and training on a variety of topics important to our organization. We invite you to explore the issues surrounding poverty and homelessness in Edmonton in an informative and engaging environment.

Debbie Fawcett

Reintegration Chaplain, The Mustard Seed

For the past seven years, Debbie has served as the Women’s Reintegration Chaplain at The Mustard Seed’s Open Door Program. She is recognized and well-known by women who are being released from prison. Debbie and her husband are parents of three adult sons who added two daughter-in-laws to the family.

Jonathan Nicolai-deKoning

Director of Programs, The Micah Centre, The King’s University

Jonathan is the Director of Programs for The Micah Centre at The King’s University. Prior to his role at The King’s University, Jonathan worked as a Reintegration Chaplain at The Mustard Seed’s Open Door Program for seven years, supporting individuals leaving prison and resettling in Edmonton. He lives in Edmonton with his wife and three young children.

Debbie Fawcett and Jonathan Nicolai-deKoning will share stories and lessons from their years supporting men and women leaving prison and settling into Edmonton. The Speaker Session will give us a sense of how to support those leaving prison and will provide a better understanding of restorative justice.
