Event description

Description

So you want to investigate the paranormal at one of Canada's last accessible Sanatoriums? Tuberculosis was a huge epidemic in the late 19th century and early 20th century. In response to this Canada built Sanatoriums country wide. Treatment? bed rest and fresh air. It was coined the "The Rest Cure". In the 1950's with the introduction of antibiotics and vaccines, eventually over the following 20 years made Sanatoriums less needed and they shut down all over the country.

Deaths at the Sanatorium: The exact number is unknown, due to privacy laws and some of the patients still possibly being alive records are not public. What we do know is that at a near by cemetery there is a monument with the names of over 300 people who are believed to be buried there in unmarked graves. It is also thought that on the property there are unmarked graves. Missing aboriginal and Inuit peoples are also reported. Families still to this day look for closure. Accounts have come out in the media about the mistreatment, experimental procedures done on aboriginal youth take from residential schools. Reports are not validated but the experiences shared of physical and sexual abuse at the hands of the Sanatorium staff are detailed and saddening.

Paranormal Accounts: We will save the details for the event. With the other paranormal teams that have investigated, our own experiences and those of our 2018 guests, we have a lot to share. It is of our opinion that this location is highly active.

Purpose of the event: This property is privately owned and it is costly to maintain. In order to preserve it the owner has taken the paranormal route as a means of gaining attention to this historical gem. The revenue raised assists the owner in maintaining the property, so it can remain accessible to the public.

What happens at our paranormal event?

1) Arrival and Greeting: Arrive to the Sanatorium and are guided to a presentation room. We make team introductions and outline the plans for the evening. Lots of snack!

2) Before you get going on investigating we need to discuss and present the equipment used, the history of the location, paranormal experiences and talk about evidence. Call this the learning period. It also gives us an opportunity to get to know all of you.

3) Investigation! Be prepared to be in the dark! Bring your own flashlight. You will have the opportunity to explore this historic property at night with us. All is recorded and documented while using investigative equipment and tools.

4) The group paranormal experiment. You will all be part of a structured experiment that will be recorded. This is the surprise aspect of the event, be sure to be able to be in the dark possibly alone. Last year we had guests run from this aspect of our event. They shared some interesting experiences!

5) Our last group presentation, sharing of experiences, discussion on evening events. Group pictures!

6) Post Event. As we review the audio and video from the event we post the evidence for you to review on our FB page. You are the investigators so we need you to review what we find and comment your opinions on the evidence. See what possibly has presented itself to you as you investigate Ninette Sanatorium.
