About this event
It is impossible to get through life without varying degrees of adversity. Some of the challenges we face are biproducts of choices we make, like moving to a new community or changing jobs, while others come into our lives like unwelcome house guests.
Like a sailboat that is prepared for all conditions, what if we could trust in ourselves to weather the storms? With a healthy resilience practice this is possible.
Join us on Saturday February 11 from 10 a.m. to noon, at the SOS Community Services Centre in Parksville for a free seminar where you will learn new ways to revive and restore your sense of well-being.
The seminar will be led by Cindy Thompson ACC, M. Sc, RCC, who is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Executive Coach. Over the past two years Cindy has been studying resilience and learning from the lived experience of her guests on A Resilience Project podcast. Drawing on 30 + years in the counselling field and the distilled practices of her guests on the podcast, she will give you a starter kit of resilience practices to help you thrive.
Panelists include representatives from local mental health service organizations.
