Description

Designers at all experience levels are invited to attend for a discussion of a range of topics from portfolio presentations to pricing creative work. Meet fellow Members, discuss industry issues and make connections with colleagues.

There will be a 30 minute mingling, networking portion from 6:30 to 7:00 PM (with food provided by RGD) and then participants will be divided into groups with a selected discussion leader from 7:00 to approx. 9:00 PM.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Discussion leaders:

Athena Hermann RGD is the Design Director at Akendi, a leading UX design and research company based in Toronto. She brings 16 years of expertise in mobile, website, user interface, branding and print design. Athena’s mission is to create intentional experiences through design, ensuring user experience is at the core of all projects.

Gilbert Li RGD has been a design professional since 1995. He is the founder of The Office of Gilbert Li, a full-service graphic design studio. From ground breaking books to trendsetting packaging, Gilbert's work has received accolades from the most prestigious international design organizations and publications.

Leanne Paura RGD joined the mobile design movement in 2009 as a user interface designer. She is now the Director of User Experience at ecobee, a smart home automation start-up. She is responsible for creating a delightful user experience across web, mobile and connected home products.

Lionel Gadoury RGD is the Principal and Director of Strategy and Creative Services at Context Creative. Beyond creating innovative business models and profitable partner relationships, Lionel’s goal is to put graphic design and communications to work, helping clients act on new opportunities, creating memorable campaigns that achieve goals, while putting sustainable processes in place that typically increase competitive capabilities.

Tina Mackenzie RGD has twenty years of design and creative management experience and leads a team of multi-talented designers at the City of Mississauga. With more than fifteen in-house clients and external clients like the Art Gallery of Mississauga, Tina works with colleagues to develop multi-faceted and award-winning marketing campaigns. Her team delivers large, corporate-wide projects encompassing visual identity, print, web and way finding.
