Description

Designers of all levels are invited to attend a Q&A/discussion with an RGD guest on a specific topic or topics.

There will be a 30 minute mingling, networking portion from 6:30 to 7:00 PM (with food!) and then participants are divided into groups to chat with their selected RGD guest from 7:00 to 9:00PM. It's a casual conversation—no presentation or prep necessary. We will have 2-3 tables each with 8-10 RGD, Provisional RGD or Affiliate Members. Each table will also have a Provisional RGD Committee Member to help with starter questions.

Topic: Certification Process and the benefits of getting your RGD

Discussion Leader: Randal Boutilier RGD, Principal, 12thirteen Design Inc.

Randal is founding principal of 12thirteen, a firm focused on serving the non-profit and performing arts sectors. Word-of-mouth promotion has grown his client list from small businesses and independent artists to York University and the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Randal chairs RGD's Certification Committee and serves on the Certification Evaluation Committee.

Topic: The Advertising Industry

Discussion Leader: Barry Quinn RGD, Chief Design Officer, DDB North America

Barry is the Chief Design Officer at DDB North America. He was a co-founder of Juniper Park. During his ten year run, he roped grow the business from 5 to 165 people, winning over 450 awards in the process. Barry was Partner at Grip Limited; Creative Director, Design at Gee Jeffery & Partners Advertising; and years at Spencer Francey Peters, Ove Design and Bhandari & Co.

Discussion Leader: John Furneaux RGD, Principal, Projektor Brand Image

John is the founder, chief ideator and creative and strategic quarterback at Projektor. He specializes in brand Visual Development - strategy, identity, image and communications and believes that, for Brand Image solutions to create value, they need to make a difference: change a perception, provoke a thought, trigger an action. This value comes when people use their Brand Image to create an immersive experience, not as decoration or the end deliverable unto itself.

Discussion Leader: Cai Sepulis RGD, Freelance Illustrator & Partner at Toque Ltd

Cai has worked closely with craft breweries, music and literary festivals, restaurants and cafes, and a handful of national and multi-national corporations to helps all of them do better by making them look good and feel great.

Discussion Leader: Natalie Armata RGD, Co-Founder & Creative Director, Giants & Gentlemen

Natalie has achieved both business and creative success throughout her career. She has worked on clients in all sectors, big and small. Some include SIR Corp, Wyndham Hotels, Fisherman's Friend, TELUS, Canadian Tire, Rexall, Sony and Ontario Tourism. She’s won at both National and International award shows and has judged them too. An entrepreneur at heart, she started Giants & Gentlemen with Alanna Nathanson and Gino Cantalini; driven to make their clients Giants in the marketplace and Gentlemen throughout the process.
