Overview:
This webinar will provide a brief review of the evidence on best approaches when engaging community participants in the co-design of senior-friendly healthcare practices. Two instances of community participation will be described. One initiative uses a co-design approach to improve patient and family caregiver engagement across St. Joseph's Health Care London. The second project, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, involves a co-design approach to transform the design and delivery of ambulatory geriatric care services in North Toronto.
Learning Objectives:
1) To understand current evidence on best approaches to engage patient/family community members to support the design and delivery of seniors-focused healthcare services.
2) To discuss two applications of patient/family engagement in co-design processes.
3) To participate in interactive discussion of engagement approaches taken by participants.
