About this event

We grieve.

We grieve for what was. For what is absent. Lost. Gone.

We grieve for the could-have-been’s and should-have-been’s. For the possibilities that will never be.

Welcome to Rhythms of Grief.

Special speakers read a poem (or short prose) that expresses their personal journey with grief. Each speaker will give a short background to connect the poem with their personal story.

Our speakers are storytellers, educators, health practitioners, and artists - folks who, like you and me, have been touched by death and loss in some ways.

For photos and bios of our speakers, please visit our Facebook Events page.

They are Stephen Garrett, Zed Payne, Carl Weibe, Rev. Marnie Peterson, Jennifer Lorca, Susan Cormier, Lianne Palminrose.

Co-hosts: Wade Lifton and iris paradela-hunter.

Our Intentions

● To acknowledge, own and honour our grief as an essential aspect of our humanity, not to be denied, ignored or avoided.

● To bring together a community in the spirit of openness, care, and wholehearted support.

● To experience the healing balm of music, poetry and prose.

Registration is required for this online FREE event.

There is an opportunity to donate.

As we all know, artists have been impacted a lot during this pandemic. 100% of the donation will go to Vancouver Story Slam. Click here to donate to a local, grassroots group that brings entertaining, inspiring evening of storytelling in East Van! Please note that there is no obligation to donate, just the opportunity.
