Right to Read On-Line Workshop..........Catching Children Before They Fail.

Event Information

Event description

Description

Concerned about early literacy? Are you teaching beginning readers? Early identification and effective interventions can significantly reduce the severity of a child's reading difficulties!

This in-depth on-line workshop will provide K-1 teachers with the Reading Readiness Screening Tool, complete with a comprehensive set of interventions to support each of the tool's subtests. Screening with this easy-to-use tool will help you determine which students may have difficulty learning to read and how to build the necessary skills before they fail.

Part one of the course will introduce the assessment tool and the importance of its subtests. An intermission is taken to assess your students. Part two will give interventions for each of the subtests.

The on-line workshop allows you to work at your own pace. The assessment tool, activity resources for teachers and activities resources for parents are included in the course fee of $200.00.

Participants will have three months to complete the workshop, working at their own pace. The workshop is open 24/7.

What Teachers are saying about the Right to Read Program.

"I mentioned to my principal a couple days ago that the Reading Readiness Screening Tool is a complete and organized resource that is age appropriate for my class and that I will be using it as a key assessment tool for this upcoming school year and years to come! What I love about the screening tool the most is it doesn't just end after the testing. With the score sheet I am able to determine how the student is developing at a certain point in the school year. I can then use the results and suggestions I learned from the sessions as well as share with parents about how to build on the skills that are needed to become a better reader in a focused area of reading."
